Orange Coast College

Orange Coast College is a community college located in Orange County Costa Mesa California. The campus is about 40 miles south of Los Angeles California. The college was founded in 1947. School enrollment is approximately 24,000 students. It is the third largest college in Orange County. It provides two year associates degrees, certificates of achievement, and classes that transfer to other colleges and universities. The mission of Orange Coast College is to provide inexpensive tuition in the trades, licensed trades and skilled professions, as well as remedial and transferable lower division courses for students who plan to transfer to either California State University or University of California. Orange County College is one of the top transfer colleges in the country. They are fully accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges. Students can earn certificates and degrees in 31 different fields. Some of the top majors offered at Orange County College are Liberal Arts and Sciences, General Studies and Humanities, Business, Management, Marketing and Related Support Services, and Health Professions. Orange County College has several different student life activities on campus including clubs, sports, student government, and many others. Orange County College offers Men’s and Women’s sports including Basketball, Soccer, Crew, Golf, Volleyball, Football and many others. The school mascot is the pirate. There is currently no on campus housing however, there are some available apartments off campus that are close in proximity to the campus. Students can also rent rooms or houses in nearby homes. The campus has recently undergone some renovations including the student center and main theater as well as a technology building. Overall Orange County College is a great school for someone looking to get a degree or certificate and start working in their field immediately.
