The SENS Foundation received half a million dollars from Jason Hope. This is a non-profit organization based out of California and was founded in 2009. Their main goal is to repair the damage that is built up in the body before it causes deadly illnesses that are irreversible. This organization develops, promotes, and ensures the rejuvenation of biotechnology that fights against age-related diseases over a wide range. At a “breakthrough philanthropy” event hosted by the Thiel Foundation, Mike Kope, CEO of the SENS Foundation announced the generous donation. This event took place in the Palace of Fine Arts in San Francisco, California.
Aubrey de Grey, the CSO of the SENS Foundation announced how the donation will be put to good use. She stated how the money will go to help in fighting the battle against hypertension which is the increased blood pressure in the elderly and causes the hardening of the arteries. This can also lead to diabetes and a lot of unwanted diseases, some of which are only treated through medication but there is no cure as of today. There is no doubt that this substantial amount of money that was donated by Jason Hope will save many lives in the future and treat many illnesses.
